Light Armoured Vehicles RECCE (LAV-RECCE)
General Dynamics Canada worked with General Dynamics Land Systems - Canada (GDLS-C) to supply the Canadian Army with Light Armoured Reconnaissance Vehicles (LAV Recce).
While GDLS-C built the LAV Recce vehicles, General Dynamics Canada was responsible for the design, development and supply of multi-spectral surveillance systems that were subsequently integrated into the vehicle chassis. They are used by the Army in a wide variety of reconnaissance and surveillance roles including UN peacekeeping operations. LAVs have been deployed on every Canadian Army overseas deployment since they were introduced into service in 1996.
This vehicle, designated by the Army as the "Coyote", is the first to be fitted with such an integrated surveillance system and is regarded as the baseline capability against which modern armed forces will evaluate their requirements for future armoured reconnaissance vehicles.
