Rugged
The PX3030 is designed and built to survive the harshest combat vehicle electronics environments by General Dynamics Canada Ltd. (GD Canada), the world’s leading supplier of military-rugged Intel-based embedded computing.
Dual Core Performance
The PX3030 provides best-in-class performance coupled with best-in-class I/O capabilities. Mated to the 2.26 GHz Core™2 Duo processor is Intel's GS45/ICH9M chipset providing the PX3030 a full featured I/O set including 2x GigE, 2x eSATA, 6x USB 2.0 , 4x Serial, analog RGB output, up to 16x GPIOs with interrupts, and stereo audio.
The PX3030 implements Intel's VT-x and VT-d Virtualization Technology. These technologies enable the simultaneous secure execution of two operating systems with one processor core dedicated to each. With software support, this includes the ability to run both a real-time and a high-level operating system on one PX3030 at the same time.
System Management and Health Monitoring
The PX3030 provides the application developer with access to a full range of on-board health monitoring information including temperatures, backplane voltages, and internal voltage rails. The PX3030 also optionally provides an external management interface conforming to a subset of the IPMI 1.5 specification.
Integrated Graphics Controller
The PX3030 includes the Intel X4500HD graphics engine providing 3D enhancements and support for Microsoft DirectX 10 and OpenGL 2.0. The PX3030 provides analog RGB directly and with the addition of a low-cost level-shifter XMC can provide two single-DVI outputs.
Low Power Consumption
When equipped with the 2.26 GHz dual-core processor and 8 GB of RAM the PX3030 consumes a low maximum application power of 35 W. With a 1.2 GHz ultra-low-voltage dual-core processor a configuration with a maximum application power of 23 W is possible.
Flexible Mezzanine Expansion
The PX3030's VITA 42.3 XMC mezzanine site provides a flexible means of adding additional functionality to the base card. In addition to the PCI Express connection to the GS45 GMCH, it is augmented with a rich set of I/O connections including SATA, USB, and LPC to facilitate low-cost customization.
Customizable
All GD Canada SBCs are available in an as-listed configuration or in user-defined configurations. Pin-outs, processor speeds, memory configurations, and BIOS customizations are all available.
