Situation Display Consoles (SDC)
Technical Information
General Dynamics Canada provides the Situation Display Consoles (SDC) for the NATO AWACS modernization program. The SDC is a ruggedized graphic workstation, designed for the harsh environments existing in military aircraft. The primary role of the SDC is to graphically display the processed outputs of the various sensors onboard the aircraft. The SDC uses a 20.1 inch flat panel monitor, a powerful COTS processor, and many other state-of-the-art features in an open architecture configuration. This technology is also applicable to maritime patrol aircraft, airborne command and control functions, and similar tactical requirements.
