CH148 Cyclone - Maritime Helicopter Project
The Sikorsky CH148 Cyclone is a twin-engine, multi-role shipboard helicopter operated by the Canadian Forces Air Command. It is designed for anti-submarine warfare (ASW), surveillance, and search and rescue (SAR) missions from Canadian warships, as well as tactical transport for national and international security efforts.
General Dynamics Canada is the prime supplier and integrator of hardware and software that enable the CH148 Cyclone’s mission sensors and systems.
Mission system integration is managed by the General Dynamics Canada Tactical Integrated Sensor Information System (TISIS). This system enables the aircraft to collect and present integrated tactical situational awareness data gathered by the new radar, electro-optics, electronic support measures, and an acoustics system. It delivers information to on-board operators through an easily configured and managed digital map display. Integrated with surveillance systems, it enables surface and sub-surface maritime, overland and littoral surveillance operations.
General Dynamics Canada is also providing in-service support (ISS) training simulation, ground support systems and a fully capable software support facility needed to meet life cycle system sustainability requirements
