M109A6 Paladin Self-Propelled Howitzer
The M109A6 Paladin is the latest variant of the United States Army’s M109 self-propelled howitzer. This next-generation, heavy artillery platform integrates a variety of advanced sensors and systems that enable navigation, fire control, and communication.
General Dynamics Canada provides the PC6011 single board computer (SBC) that enables the Paladin’s Force XXI Battle Command, Brigade-and-Below (FBCB2) and fire control functions. The FBCB2 function is a digital, battle command information system that delivers on-the-move, real-time and near-real-time battle command information to tactical combat, combat support and combat service support leaders and soldiers.
With this advanced SBC, size, weight, power and cost (SWaPc) are reduced, and the Paladin is a more effective platform in a variety of operations.
